We integrate creative concept development with rigorous code and zoning analysis, stringent regulatory compliance, sustainable systems planning, and detailed construction documentation — coordinating closely with engineers and consultants to streamline approvals and keep projects on schedule and budget.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION

D. Clugston also provides a full range of pre-construction services. Our experience in pre-construction is broad — from feasibility studies, budgeting, value engineering, and design review to schedule development, renovation upgrades, tenant improvements, large commercial retail, and restaurant establishments.

CONSTRUCTION

At D. Clugston, our Building Division executes designed plans to produce a completed and operational facility. Our project managers (PM) can complete any commercial or specialized builds, renovations, or fit-ups. This Division oversees construction means and techniques; manages budgets, schedules, and quality; facilitates and records communication among architects, owners, and contractors; and coordinates project hand-off, closeout, and commissioning. We have completed dozens of projects that include recreational facilities, golf clubs, clubhouses, restaurants, breweries and bars, commercial shell buildings and tenant fit-ups. We also have experience in exterior site improvements, landscaping, mail kiosks structures, pocket parks, bocce ball, pickleball, basketball, and tennis courts.  Our PMs and superintendents strive to complete every project with the highest level of quality, integrity, and safety for our clients.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AT RISK

Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) secures delivery within a guaranteed maximum price (GMP). The construction manager (CM) advises the owner during the design, then functions as the general contractor during construction — shouldering any cost overruns above the GMP. Brought on six months to a year before design completion, the CM continuously and meticulously balances cost, schedule, scope, and quality, avoiding costly redesigns and detours. CMAR mirrors private-sector contracting and provides a faster, more cost-effective alternative to the traditional design-bid-build pipeline.

AQUATICS DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION

The Aquatics Division at D. Clugston can complete any aquatic project of any size—including rooftop settings. We have extensive experience with lap pools, splash pads, spas, fountains, and more. Our vendors' exceptional products in the commercial pool market allow us to design and incorporate more than 95 percent of our pool filtration equipment with the highest quality products available.
